Description

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: Announcing the first MDIC Modeling and Simulation Summit on June 26 and 27 in Washington DC
MDIC will hold a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Summit to discuss a road map for using computational modeling and simulation as ‘Regulatory Grade’ evidence of safety and efficacy in the development and evaluation of medical devices. The summit will bring together industry, researchers, regulators, and software companies to discuss how to leverage M&S to bring new devices to market safely, more quickly, and at lower cost—giving patients more and better choices for treatment.

The two day Summit will include panel sessions and podium presentations with plenty of time for discussion and questions. The Summit will include new topics identified from submitted abstracts as well as abstracts focused on the following themes:

  • Combining experiment and simulation to inform clinical trials
  • Repository for models, inputs, validation data, and best practices
  • Computer Modeling and Simulation (CM&S) Value proposition: return on investment, increasing certainty safety and device performance
  • Leads and implants in the human heart
  • Magnetic Resonance heating
  • Orthopedics
  • Blood damage assessment

To have your abstract considered for presentation please email an approximately one-page abstract (inclusive of pictures) to CMS@mdic.org by no later than June 6th. Submissions will be reviewed and selected on an ongoing basis, so please submit early!
